I have a 1992 Volkswagon Jetta GL, built in Mexico. It is bright red -
I believe that VW calls this paint Tornado Red. It has a white base or
primer coat underneath the red, which makes it much brighter than if it
went on over a gray primer.

I know I can get the tornado red paint almost anywhere, but no one
seems to know the exact shade of white for the base/primer coat. If
the shade is off a bit, it will make the red topcoat not mach the rest
of the car. The dealer doesn't seem to know the specifications for the
white base/primer coat, so I am hoping that someone in the group will
know.

Please respond to gazongamanUSA at yahoo dot com - or remove the mapson
from the reply to in the posting.

That explains why my paintjob doesn't match the interior paint.

They used grey primer.

Jesus Christ - can't anybody answer the fucking question and stop
making stupid comments? What interior paint on a Jetta - they use
plastic panels.

Does anyone know the answer as to what paint is underneath the tornado
red topcoat?
